(WASHINGTON, D.C.) – Sen. Murray released the following statement on the deaths in Iraq of 3 soldiers from the Stryker Brigade based at Ft. Lewis:
“I was deeply saddened to learn of the deaths of three brave soldiers from Fort Lewis who lost their lives while serving our country in Iraq. This is a great loss for their families, for the Army and for our nation. Washington State has lost three heroes.
My heart goes out to the families of these brave soldiers during this difficult time. I hope that their loved ones may take comfort knowing that the nation is grateful for their service and sacrifice.
The soldiers of the Stryker Brigade, based at Fort Lewis, have been called upon to support the war effort and they serve with professionalism, courage, and distinction. Washington State is fortunate to be home to so many of America’s finest soldiers, sailors and airmen.
The losses suffered by our state and nation are a painful reminder of the honor and courage of the men and women of our armed forces.”
