Today, U.S. Senator Patty Murray (D-WA) urged senior citizens in
Washington state to protect themselves against Medicare scams and fraud. This
comes following recent reports that seniors seeking their Medicare
prescription drug “doughnut hole” rebates are being targeted by scam artists.

Murray posted resources for senior citizens to use to prevent and report
Medicare fraud on her website murray.senate.gov.

“As
checks go out across Washington state to help seniors who fell into the doughnut
hole pay for their prescription drugs, we need to do everything we can to
protect them from fraud or scams,” said Senator Patty Murray. “If you or
someone you know thinks you may be a victim of Medicare fraud, please call
1-800-447-8477 or visit my website for more information.”

Seniors
should visit murray.senate.gov or call
1-800-447-8477 for more information or to report Medicare fraud.
