Grant, loan money will support construction of building for education and health services

(WASHINGTON, D.C.) – U.S. Senator Patty Murray (D-Wash.) today announced a $1,200,000 loan and $35,000 grant to Family Services of Grant County.

The funds, provided by the U.S. Department of Agriculture, will be used to construct a center to house educational and health care services to low-income residents of Grant County.

"I am pleased that Grant County residents will now have access to expanded medical and educational resources for women and families," Senator Murray said. "Rural development funding programs do so much to support health and education in our local communities. I am proud that these programs will benefit Grant County."

The facility will house Head Start early education programs, a family planning and women's health care clinic, and the organization's administrative offices.

Senator Murray is a member of the Senate Appropriations Subcommittee on Agriculture, Rural Development, the Food and Drug Administration, and Related Agencies.
