(Washington, D.C.) U.S. Senator Patty Murray (D-WA), Assistant Democratic Leader and the highest-ranking woman in the United States Senate, joined her Senate Democratic colleagues and people in Washington state and across the country this week in voicing her strong opposition to President Trump’s Supreme Court nominee Judge Brett Kavanaugh, taking to social media to raise her severe objections to Judge Kavanaugh’s track record on several issues important to women and families, and amplify the growing movement of people raising their voices against Judge Kavanaugh’s confirmation.

Against the backdrop of Judge Kavanaugh’s nomination hearings in the Senate Judiciary Committee, Senator Murray took several opportunities to reiterate the threat Judge Kavanaugh poses to the country and slam Republicans’ continued efforts to block Judge Kavanaugh’s full record from the public. Citing the lack of transparency regarding Judge Kavanaugh’s documents, and the growing cloud of corruption surrounding President Trump, Senator Murray called for Republicans to slow down the nomination process to allow for a thorough vetting of Judge Kavanaugh’s full record. Additionally, Senator Murray continued to highlight Judge Kavanaugh’s offensive record, including the threat his nomination poses to health care and patient protections, women’s reproductive freedoms, and more.
