(Washington, D.C.)—Today, U.S. Senator Patty Murray (D-WA), a senior member of the Senate Transportation, Housing and Urban Development Appropriations Subcommittee, applauded the U.S. Department of Transportation’s announcement that the Tri-Cities Airport in Pasco, Washington, will receive a $2.4 million federal grant to rehabilitate portions of the terminal building and maintain the structural integrity of the pavement. These critical improvements will ensure the airport will be better equipped to meet capacity needs at the airport.

“These investments are great news for Washington state families, small business owners, and communities who depend on safe, reliable airports to connect our cities,” said Senator Patty Murray. "As air traffic continues to increase, it is critical that we continue to invest in infrastructure in Washington state and across the nation.”

The grant was announced on Tuesday.
