Washington, DC – Today, Senator Patty Murray (D-WA), a long-time champion of the Land and Water Conservation Fund (LWCF), released the following statement:

“The Land and Water Conservation Fund – created by none other than Washington’s own Senator Henry ‘Scoop’ Jackson -- is one of our country’s greatest tools to create green spaces, preserve and protect our public lands, and help communities dream up new opportunities and support the outdoor recreation economy. After seeing firsthand the many benefits LWCF has brought to Washington state over the decades, I’ve been proud to join the fight for the Fund’s permanent reauthorization. I urge Congress to get this permanent reauthorization across the finish line so more conservation projects can take root in Washington state and across the country for generations to come.”
