(WASHINGTON, D.C.) – U.S. Senator Patty Murray (D-Wash.) reacted to comments by the Bush Administration that Congressional approval may not be needed before taking military action against Iraq.

In a statement, Murray warned against sending troops to Iraq without making the case before Congress and the American public.

Murray's statement:

"The President would be making a tremendous mistake by sending our sons and daughters into war without Congressional approval. The American public deserves to know the facts and be involved in a decision of this magnitude."
