Funding Supports Effort to Curb Effects of Air Traffic on Area Residents

(WASHINGTON) ā€“ Sen. Patty Murray (D-Wash.) announced today that the U.S. Department of Transportation will release a discretionary grant in the amount of $10.1788 million to the Port of Seattle to fund noise abatement measures for buildings near Sea-Tac airport.

As ranking Democrat on the Senate Transportation Appropriations Subcommittee, Murray secured these funds for Washington state in the Transportation Appropriations bill.

ā€œIā€™m pleased to announce this grant to help improve quality of life for Sea-Tac area residents. This funding will allow Sea-Tac to continue efficient service while protecting the community from unwanted noise.
