The White House

Location:1600 Pennsylvania Avenue, NW

Description: Walk around the home of the President and the oldest public building in Washington, DC. The White House tour includes views of the East Room, State Dining Room, and the Red, Green, and Blue Rooms.

Required Security Information: All visitors requesting White House tours must undergo a background check for security reasons. You will need the following information for each participant:

  • Full legal name
  • Date of birth
  • Social Security Number (required if you are a U.S. citizen)
  • Country of citizenship
  • Country of origin (where you were born)

How to submit White House security information: Once you have submitted your Tour Request form to our office, we will replay acknowledging the request. On the week THREE MONTHS prior to your first requested tour date you will receive an email from the White House asking you to RSVP for every person in your group. Once you receive this email, you will have 7 days to complete this form with the security information listed above for every member of your party. Note that filling out this information is not a confirmation of your tour but instead a confirmation that your tour has been successfully requested. Failure to complete the security information in the allotted time will result in a denial of the tour request.

How the White House tour request process works: Once you have submitted your security information, you will have to wait until two weeks before your requested dates to hear from the White House whether your request was “Approved” or “Denied.” Tours that are requested within the three month time frame will likely be full and unable to be requested. Once the White House sends a final correspondence email to you, you will receive information about any other tours you requested on the Tour Request form.

Note: Only three dates of availability can be submitted to the White House, and tour times cannot be selected. White House tour hours are 7:30am – 1:30pm, Tuesday through Saturday. All tours are assigned on one of the requested days at a time within the above frame, and the assignment cannot be changed once approved.
