HANFORD: Murray Statement on DOE Framework to Address Cleanup of Hanford Tank Waste

(Washington, D.C.) – Today, U.S. Senator Patty Murray released the following statement after the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) unveiled a framework document on cleaning up tank waste at Hanford.

“For several years now, I have consistently called on DOE to provide a comprehensive plan to address tank waste at Hanford, and though this document does not constitute a comprehensive plan, it is a step in the right direction,” said Senator Murray.  “I look forward to reviewing this framework and receiving a full briefing from DOE, and I remain committed to ensuring that DOE provides a full, detailed plan for comprehensively addressing the complicated challenges we still face.”
