Murray Applauds Investments in Washington State Airports to Boost Infrastructure, Economic Growth

(Washington, D.C.)—Today, U.S. Senator Patty Murray (D-WA), a senior member of the Senate Transportation, Housing and Urban Development Appropriations Subcommittee, applauded the U.S. Department of Transportation’s announcement that ten airports across Washington state will receive over $13 million in federal grants. The grants will make critical improvements to the airports in order to handle increased air traffic, assess short- and long-term needs, and promote economic growth in both urban and rural areas.

“These investments are great news for Washington state families, small business owners, and communities who depend on safe, reliable airports to connect our cities and drive the local economy,” said Senator Patty Murray. “Investing in our infrastructure is one of the single best ways to ensure our economic competitiveness for decades to come.”
