Senator Murray’s Statement on Flood Damage in Washington State

(Washington D.C.) – Today, U.S. Senator Patty Murray (D-WA) released the following statement on flooding in Washington state:

"I am deeply concerned about the damage caused by yesterday’s storms in our state and my heart goes out to all the families who have been affected. The flooding in the region has had – and will continue to have – a significant human and economic toll. We will all need to join together to ensure that our people, businesses, and infrastructure have the resources they need to bounce back. I commend Governor Gregoire’s leadership in responding to this emergency, and I will be working to make sure the federal government provides the support our state needs."
