(Washington, D.C.) – Today, U.S. Senator Patty Murray (D-WA), Chair of the Senate Transportation Appropriations Subcommittee, applauded the U.S. Department of Transportation’s announcement that Pangborn Memorial Airport in Wenatchee will receive $9.5 million in federal funding. The grant will provide funding for a runway extension project to help accommodate aircraft that use the airport. The current runway limits aircraft, which experience range and payload limitations as a result of the runway length.
“This investment is great news for the Pangborn Memorial Airport and the entire Wenatchee community. With this funding, the airport will be able to make improvements that are critical to ensuring efficiency and supporting the economic and transportation needs of the area.”
