WENATCHEE: Murray Applauds Federal Investment in Wenatchee Valley College

(Washington, D.C.) – Today, U.S. Senator Patty Murray (D-WA) applauded the U.S. Department of Education’s decision to grant $421,495  in federal funds to Wenatchee Valley College under the Strengthening Institutions Program (SIP) grant program.  The FY 2013 SIP grant aims to assist in increasing postsecondary success and college completion, and improving overall productivity.

“This is a critical investment for Wenatchee Valley College, its programs and the students they serve,” said Senator Patty Murray.  “I applaud the Department of Education for their continued focus on student completion and higher education in Washington state.”

The SIP program helps eligible institutions of higher education to become self-sufficient and expand their capacity to serve low-income students by providing funds to improve and strengthen the academic quality, institutional management, and fiscal stability of eligible institutions.
